We want everyone to feel that they are safe walking, cycling, e-biking, pushing buggies or negotiating streets with a wheelchair or walking aid. Where there are longer distances, we want people to feel that there is a public transport option so they don't always need a car to get around. Active travel makes us all healthier, reduces pollution, cuts congestion and reduces our dependence on fossil fuels. It's important that children and young people feel safe travelling independently around town.
Our main campaign at present is trying to persuade Cheshire East Council that we aren't the only ones who want safer streets! We want to see 20mph limits wherever vulnerable road users (that's us!) and traffic mix.
We work with the Civic Trust, the Neighbourhood Plan implementation group and Cycle Wilmslow to improve walking and cycling routes and to encourage more of us to ditch the car for short journeys.
